An indispensable tool for audio-visual recording system, is the scheduler. We have seen in previous articles how the scheduler on the client tool works, which allows the definition of session by selecting channel, date and time.
The scheduler 24 hours, which resides on the server, is intended to automate tasks of recording and creating repetitive patterns of recording, to allow us to configure the system, for example, continuous recording of a channel or a recording takes place every Monday from 6-8 pm.
The scheduler, is aimed at defining how we want the server to perform the recordings based on every day of the week, you can set a different record type for each day of the week and for each time slot each of those days.
We have four recording templates for each channel, we have kind of day A, B, C and D for channel 1, A, B, C and D for channel 2 … and so on for all channels on our server. Besides the four types of templates, there are several ways to operanción, NO RECORD, RECORD IN ONE FILE, RECORD TIME BASED, RECORD SIZE BASED AND RECORD BASED O CLIENT SCHEDULER TOOL
Making combinations of templates recording channels and recording modes, you can set, with great flexibility our server’s an example:
Suppose you have an 8-channel TebasDVR server in an environment of city hall, where several functions are being conducted with this server. They are designed to record six channels of broadcast TV channels in undertaking a media manitoring, the two remaining channels are allocated to the recording of full information and commissions, in addition to recording the various events that occur in the building, either press conferences or public events.
Thus we have that 6 of the 8 channels foroma burn continuously for every day of the week, with some specific parameters. Configure every day of the week for that record according to the template A.
Configure the template to channel 1 to 6, as follows. from 2 am to 6 am, NO RECORD, as it is determined that this information is not relevant to the task of media monitoring. 6 am to 1:30 pm, we configure the template to record continuous splitting files into 1 hour slots, RECORD TIME BASED, from 1.30 to 15.30, we set the recording mode ONE FILE, to get all the news programs into a single file easy to manage, from 15.30 to 20 hours, reconfigure RECORDING TIME BASED, in files of 1 hour and 20 to 22 hours in ONE FILE mode again, for the evening newscasts. 22 to 24 hours, RECORDING TIME in 1 hour. Thus we have configured the channels responsible for the audit of television media.
Channels 7 and 8 for information commissions, plenary sessions and events, will be configured as follows:
A template is configured channel 7 in not recording, so that this channel remain there pending a request for recording the client tool manually from Thebes, and will be the town clerk, who will to record the session and stop the recording at the end of it.
Configure the template to channel 8, to attend the recording scheduler requests client Thebes, given that this channel will be used for press conferences and events, and then may be edited, it is easy to use the calendar client tool for programs recording sessions to begin a day to a specific time with a specific duration, resulting in time frame, which then can be removed by editing the recording with the authoring tool itself Customer Thebes.
This is an example of how to create repeating patterns that automate recording server tasks, and release the staff of these tedious tasks.
